Shoopman to direct the 'Pride of Arizona'Β
Chad Shoopman has joined the faculty at the University of Arizona Fred Fox School of Music as the associate director of bands and director of athletic bands.
His duties include directing βThe Pride of Arizonaβ Marching and Pep Bands, conducting the Wind Symphony, and teaching leadership and marching band techniques courses.
Shoopman holds a bachelorβs in music education and masterβs in conducting performance from the UA.
He previously worked conducting and performing on studio projects for Walt Disney World, Tokyo Disneyland, Disneyland Paris and Disney Cruise Lines. He also worked as a conductor, performer, arranger, and choreographer for live shows at Walt Disney World.
Under his baton, the Brass Band of Central Florida won a national championship.
He appears regularly as lead trumpet for Gordon Goodwinβs Big Phat Band, Arturo Sandovalβs L.A. All-Star Big Band and others.
