Jones is music director of Repertory Singers
Elliot Jones has been named music director of the Arizona Repertory Singers.
Jones holds degrees from New York University and Indiana University as well as a doctor of musical arts degree in choral conducting from the University of Arizona.
He has conducted performances of a wide variety of repertoire, including twice leading performances at the National Cathedral in Washington, most recently of Gregorio Allegri’s “Miserere.” An advocate for new music, Jones conducted the East-Coast premiere of Jake Heggie’s Anna Madrigal Remembers (text by Armistead Maupin), scored for mezzo-soprano, men’s chorus, strings and piano.
Jones served on the music faculty at West Chester University of Pennsylvania, Wesley College, Culver-Stockton College, The Music School of Delaware, and Saint Andrew’s School. In 1996 he was selected for the National Association of Teachers of Singing Intern Program at Ohio State University; and he has held regional leadership positions in the American Choral Directors Association.
