Foothills restaurant Shlomo & Vito's New York Delicatessen and Pizza Kitchen will host an eating contest for local high school football teams on Sunday.

Billed as "Tucson Hunger Games," the contest pits football teams against each other for a chance to win $500 for the winning eater's school.

Players will compete in four quarters with four rounds of food: matzoballs, hotdogs, pizza and Key lime pie. In the event of a tie-breaker, players will have to suck down cheese fries.

The event happens in the courtyard of Plaza Colonial, 2870 E. Skyline Drive, starting at 6 p.m.

It's part of the restaurant's grand re-opening celebration. Also as part of the celebration, 10 percent of all pizza sales Friday through Aug. 26 will be donated to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
