Arizona volleyball will have to overcome challenging schedule
As Dave Rubio’s No. 14 volleyball program contends for its 18th NCAA tournament berth in 24 years, the road ahead is one of obstacles. The Pac-12 did Rubio no favors: It bungled Arizona’s schedule by forcing the Wildcats to play on Thanksgiving eve at 8 p.m., at Oregon State, and then travel home on Thanksgiving before playing a 3 p.m. Friday Territorial Cup game against Arizona State. I’m guessing Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott won’t be missing Thanksgiving dinner with his family that week.
