How he fits: Offensive linemen rarely play right away for UA coach Rich Rodriguez, but there might be playing time open as soon as 2018. Tackles Layth Friekh and Gerhard de Beer, starters last year, will be seniors this fall.
He said it: “Cody’s an outstanding player. Good size, good feet for that size of a kid. We’ve had lots of really good linemen in the 20 years I’ve been at Sheldon and Cody he would rank right up there at the top…he likes to practice. He likes to lift weights. He likes being in the locker room before and after practice. But once we get out and start getting after it, he’s a leader by example, that’s for sure.” — Sheldon coach Lane Johnson
