Ashley resembles Cook, Owes
I think Brandon Ashley is a cross between former Arizona starters Anthony Cook and Ray Owes. They were both three-year starters, All-Pac-10 players, who struggled to make it in the NBA. Cook, drafted No. 24 overall in 1989, had to play a year in Greece before appearing in 116 NBA games. Owes, whose size (6-9, 215) is almost identical to Ashley’s, played in just 57 career NBA games. My question about Ashley would have been: Was he good enough to keep Boston College transfer Ryan Anderson out of the lineup next year? Or would they have had to share minutes?
