ASU found a loophole in the NCAA rule book and has appointed alumnusΒ Phil MickelsonΒ as a volunteer golf coach. Mickelson then helped ASU late in the recruiting campaign, phoning Australian whizΒ Ryan RuffelsΒ a week ago, urging him to be a Sun Devil. Well done. Now UA needs to signΒ Trevor HoffmanΒ as a volunteer baseball coach and have him phone the school’s top recruits.
