Tucson Electric Power Co. and its sister rural utility, UniSource Energy Services, have launched new mobile apps that can notify customers about power outages, allow them to make payments and help them track their energy usage.

Customers can download the apps for free from Apple's App Store or Google Play.

The apps allow customers to report power outages and check the status of restoration efforts at their service address in real time. They also can view and pay bills, review their usage patterns and history, learn energy-saving tips and quickly connect to TEP's social media sites.

Many of the apps’ features also are available online at tep.com and uesaz.com, which have been redesigned for easier use on mobile devices, the companies said.
