News and talk radio station PowerTalk 1210 stopped broadcasting on the airwaves Feb. 15.

PowerTalk’s live, local programming still will be available online at www.powertalk1210.com, said Jim Parisi, who ran the station since its inception two years ago on the KEVT AM station in Sahuarita.

The high cost of broadcasting was behind the decision to move to an online format, Parisi said.

β€œIt’s a tough nut to crack,” Parisi said.

The β€œJohn C. Scott Show,” national programs, and Cardinals football games will no longer be heard on PowerTalk.

Parisi said he is excited about working in the new format, where listeners can still hear the weekly political hour and local events program.

The station owner, One Mart Corp., could not be reached for comment about what the station will broadcast now that PowerTalk has left. Prior to PowerTalk, the station broadcast Spanish-language programming for 18 years.
