• Cox Communications Arizona: Cox is honoring four Southern Arizona Latino leaders as part of its Hispanic Heritage Month program in partnership with Telemundo television, Arizona Bilingual newspaper and La Caliente radio. The leaders are: Lynette Jaramillo and Agnes Poore, founders of Casa del la Luz Hospice; Christian Gonzalez, director of operations for the Humane Society of Arizona; and Karen Rodriguez of Cox Southern Arizona. Each of the leaders is being featured in a multimedia campaign, which includes 30-second television spots on Cox channels during Hispanic Heritage Month, and on YurView.com.
  • Dr. Ron B. Schifman: The College of American Pathologists honored five physicians, including Dr. Schifman, for their service to the CAP organization that helps ensure safety and accuracy within the medical laboratory and the pathology specialty. Dr. Schifman, chief of pathology and laboratory medicine at Southern Arizona VA Health Care System and professor of pathology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, received the CAP Distinguished Service Award.
  • Pima Federal Credit Union: PFCU has been selected to receive the Mountain West Credit Union Association’s Foundation Community Impact Award. The award recognizes a credit union program that positively impacts the community and strengthens the credit union movement. The MWCUA is a regional trade association representing 125 member credit unions throughout Arizona, Colorado, and Wyoming.
  • Paragon Space Development Corp.: Paragon has been selected as a finalist for the 2017 Governor’s Celebration of Innovation Small Business Award by the Arizona Technical Council and Arizona Commerce Authority. Paragon was nominated for revolutionizing the methods used to design and build spacecraft radiators. Paragon’s patented XRad radiators use friction stir welding to bond thin extrusions into a cohesive and highly efficient panel.
  • Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie LLP: Local attorneys Rob Charles, John Iurino and Jeff Sklar were named “star” litigators in the 2018 edition of Benchmark Litigation, a guide to top litigation firms. The firm is “highly recommended” in Arizona, Colorado and Nevada, according to the publication, which exclusively covers the commercial litigation market in North America.
  • Pima County Procurement: The department has received the Institute for Public Procurement’s Outstanding Agency Accreditation Achievement award. Pima County Procurement demonstrated high standards and best practices during the accreditation process, which takes place every three years. It’s the fifth consecutive time the department has received the award since 2005.
