The Bear Canyon Shopping Center is getting new eateries this year.

Folks on the cityโ€™s northeast side may have a hard time sticking to their diets. A pizzeria and bakery are set to open in the Bear Canyon Shopping Center, at Tanque Verde Road and Catalina Highway.

Bear Canyon Pizza Co. has leased 3,655 square feet and will serve pizza, pasta, wings and sandwiches for lunch, dinner and carry-out. It is scheduled to open in August.

Cayley Cakes leased 2,750 square feet in the plaza and is scheduled to open in May. The bakery will specialize in cakes, cupcakes and other desserts.

In both leases, Pete Villaescusa and Jesse Peron, with CBRE, and Andy Seleznov and Melissa Lal, from Larsen Baker, represented the landlord, Larsen Baker. The tenants were self represented.

The Bear Canyon Shopping Center was built in 1982 and bought by Larsen Baker in 2010.

Other recent commercial transactions include:

  • NTS Mikedon LLC leased 6,474 square feet of industrial space at 320 E. Medina Road from 320 Medina LLC. Brandon Rodgers, with Picor, handled this transaction.
  • Wick Communications Inc. leased 3,322 square feet in Village on Broadway, 2900 E. Broadway, from H.L.F. Properties Inc. Paul Hooker, with Picor, represented the tenant. Michael Laatsch and Nancy McClure, with CBRE, represented the landlord.
  • Business Finance Development Corp. leased 2,382 square feet at 335 N. Wilmot Road from National Bank of Arizona. Michael Gross, of Tucson Realty & Trust Co., represented the landlord and Rick Kleiner, of Picor, represented the tenant.
  • Southern Arizona Family Services leased 1,570 square feet at Williams Center, 310 S. Williams Blvd. The landlord was represented by David Montijo and Damian Wilkinson, with CBRE and the tenant was self-represented.
  • Angjang Jiang leased 1,423 square feet at Tucson Place, 595 E. Wetmore Road. The landlord was represented by Melissa Lal, with Larsen Baker, and the tenant was represented by David Blanchette, with CBRE.
