Mastriani is new president of Miramonte Companies

Julie Mastriani has been named president of Miramonte Companies and its affiliate companies, including Miramonte Holdings, an investment and holding company; Miramonte Arizona, a construction and development company; and Miramonte Homes, a sales and brokerage company.

Prior to her promotion to president, Mastriani served as chief operating officer of Miramonte for about 15 years. Her tenure also includes serving more than three years as chief operating officer of the Tucson division of Standard Pacific Homes, a publicly held company, during the acquisition of Miramonte Homes in 2004 through 2007.

Mastriani joined Miramonte in 1996, β€œand now joins the ranks of only a few women-led homebuilding and construction companies in Arizona,” the company said in a news release.

Star promotes Lolwing, Shaffer to new positions

The Arizona Daily Star has promoted Mark Lolwing to director of circulation and consumer innovation, and Cindy Shaffer to director of people and culture.

Lolwing, whose previous title was audience development sales manager, came to the Star in 2007 from the Chicago Tribune, after working in marketing research at Millward Brown International. He received a bachelor’s in marketing from Northern Illinois University and an MBA from the Keller Graduate School of Management.

Shaffer joined the Star in 2014 as senior human resources business partner. She previously was human resources manager at United Technologies Aerospace Systems in Phoenix and in Jamestown, North Dakota; and at Brandt Holdings Co. in Fargo, North Dakota, among other posts. She holds a bachelor’s in mass communications from Minnesota State University.

Crest Insurance names Baena as development VP

Crest Insurance Group LLC has named Cristina Baena as vice president of business development.

Baena was originally hired in May 2014 as a producer in the employee benefits division of Crest. Before joining Crest, she was the marketing and funding coordinator for the Tucson Conquistadores and played golf professionally for several years.

She graduated from the University Of Arizona Eller College Of Management with a bachelor of science in marketing and general business. While at the UA, Baena was a member of the NCAA Women’s Golf National Championship Team in 2000.

Westward Look names Phillips as spa director

Susan Phillips has joined Westward Look Wyndham Grand Resort & Spa as director of spa.

β€œUnder Phillips’ direction, the Sonoran Spa interior will be refreshed; new treatments and services will be developed, taking advantage of the fresh ingredients available from the Spa Garden; and a Sonoran Spa Apothecary will be introduced to offer products based on local, desert botanicals,” says a news release from Westward Look.

Previously, Phillips held executive roles for three Auberge resorts as director of spa and wellness in Napa Valley, California, Santa Fe, N.M. and the San Diego area. She has also been retail director at Enchantment Resort in Sedona, led the retail division for Miraval Arizona Resort & Spa and was a director of retail for El Monte Sagrado Resort & Spa in Taos, N.M. She also was a buyer, manager and art dealer for Native American art galleries in Tucson.

Rialto foundation selects Ragland for development

Julie Ragland has joined the Rialto Theatre Foundation as development director to spearhead membership, charitable giving, sponsorship/underwriting and community engagement efforts.

She brings 15 years of local nonprofit experience, having worked at the Humane Society of Southern Arizona, the Birth & Women’s Health Center, the Fox Tucson Theatre, Tohono Chul Park and most recently as senior donor relations associate at the Center for Biological Diversity.

Ragland holds a B.A. in anthropology from the University of Arizona.

Anemone returns

to Long Realty post

Maria Anemone has returned to Long Realty and its Oro Valley office.

β€œIn her 23 years as an agent, Maria has become one of Tucson’s premier real estate agents, consistently ranking in the top 1 percent of Tucson Realtors,” Long Realty said in a news releae.

Northwest physicians

adds seven practitioners

Northwest Allied Physicians has welcomed several new providers to its practice: Dr. Marcella Cox, D.O., family medicine; Dr. Jerry Hutchinson Jr., D.O., internal medicine; Dr. Karen Lee, family medicine; and Stefanie Walker-Leu, family nurse practitioner.

In addition, three providers have joined its QuickMed clinics: Dr. Michael DePaso, family medicine; Patty Higgins, family nurse practitioner; and Ana Egurrola-Gradillas, certified physician assistant.
