American Airlines has adopted a temporary schedule change for its recently launched nonstop flights from Tucson to New York that means there will be no nonstop from the Old Pueblo to the Big Apple on Jan. 2.

But the change also means there are two nonstops from Tucson International Airport to John F. Kennedy International Airport on Dec. 22, when a 9:20 a.m. flight is followed by a β€œred-eye” flight that leaves at 11:45 p.m. and arrives at 6:24 a.m.

The Tucson to JFK nonstop will continue as that single, redeye departure through Jan. 1, then stay over in New York before resuming morning nonstop service from Tucson at 9:20 a.m. on Jan. 3.

The departure time of American’s nonstop from JFK to Tucson remains unchanged. Roundtrip fares on the JFK nonstop start at $355.
