This week, Habitat for Humanity Tucson will launch Blitz Build β€” β€œan eight-day, high energy build” of four new homes in partnership with local home builders and industry professionals.

β€œWe are aggressively taking action against substandard housing in our community,” T. VanHook, Habitat Tucson CEO, said in a news release. β€œBlitz Build offers us a unique opportunity to engage our local home builders and surrounding community to take a stand together and build strength for our neighbors. Strong and stable homes build strong and stable communities.”

Blitz Build will take place from Thursday, Oct. 20 through Oct. 28 in a neighborhood near South Park Avenue and Drexel Road.

The agency is seeking in-kind donations, contractors’ services, volunteers and support for what it calls a record-breaking undertaking. Those interested in providing food and water for the builders, or supplying materials and professional services, are asked to call 373-7780 or email buildersblitz@habitattucson.org .
