W.E. O’Neil Construction Co. earned a Cornerstone Building Foundation Award.

  • Tucson Metro Chamber: The United States Chamber of Commerce awarded the Tucson Metro Chamber with 5-Star Accreditation for its sound policies, effective organizational procedures and positive impact on the community. To receive accreditation, a chamber must meet minimum standards in their operations and programs, including areas of governance, government affairs, and technology.
  • W.E. O’Neil Construction Co. of Arizona: Was presented the Cornerstone Building Foundation Award for Large General Contractor of the Year for 2017. The Cornerstone Foundation is a joint effort of the Arizona Builders’ Alliance, AIA, American Council of Engineering Companies of America, Construction Specifications Institute, National Association of Women in Construction, Society for Design Administration and Southern Arizona Architects and Engineers Marketing Association.
  • American Advertising Federation Tucson: AAF Tucson announced winners of five annual special industry recognition award honors. The Media Sales Professional of the Year was Tara Hungate, senior account executive for KLPX, KFMA, KCMT and KTKT at Arizona Lotus Corp. The Marketing Executive of the Year was presented to Cara Frank, vice president of marketing for Simpleview. Mike McPherson, art director for The DesertLeaf, won Creative Professional of the Year. Casino Del Sol’s KISS Campaign was named Social Media Marketing Campaign of the Year. Digital Marketing Campaign of the Year went to Madden Media for Even Jedi Need a Kissimmee Vacation.
  • UA College of Pharmacy: Commitments totaling more than $12 million will help pave the way for expanding and renovating the Skaggs Pharmaceutical Sciences Center at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Tucson campus. The ALSAM Foundation provided a $10 million challenge grant to the UA College of Pharmacy – the largest commitment in the history of the college. Class of ’67 alumnus R. Ken Coit and his wife, Donna, along with class of ’70 alumnus Rick Katz, were the first to provide additional support with gifts totaling more than $2 million. To complete the project, the UA College of Pharmacy must have commitments for the remaining
  • $9.5 million. Once that fundraising goal is reached, it will trigger fulfillment of the $10 million pledge from The ALSAM Foundation. In addition to the philanthropic funding raised, the UA will contribute $10 million to the $31.5 million project. The new construction and renovation of 31,500 square feet is expected to take 24-30 months, with completion by 2020.
