Mayor Jonathan Rothschild and Second Chance Tucson will host a Re-Entry Job & Resource Fair for job-seekers returning from incarceration.
The event will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, at the Tucson Convention Center Grand Lobby and Copper Ballroom, with parking available in lot B, off of Granada.
"We know that a job is the best guarantee that a person does not re-offend and end up back in prison," Rothschild said in a news release. "Yet people returning from incarceration can face barriers to employment. That's why I'm so grateful to the participating employers who are willing to give these returning citizens a second chance."
Second Chance Tucson is a coalition of nonprofits and governmental agencies working on re-entry issues and is one of Rothschild's initiatives to reduce poverty, the news release said.
