The UPS Store will start shipping packages from the historic Arizona Hotel, 31 N. Sixth Ave.

Downtown Tucson will soon have a UPS store.

Merry’s Desert Business Solutions LLC, doing business as The UPS Store, leased 1,200 square feet of space in the historic Arizona Hotel, 31 N. Sixth Ave., from Dabdoub Investments LLC. The new UPS Store will be located across the street from the Ronstadt Transit Center redevelopment.

The store will handle existing packing and shipping needs from downtown businesses, as well as the rapidly growing residential population.

The UPS Store will also offer a wide variety of printing services, including large scale projects. Rob Tomlinson, with Picor, represented the tenant.

Dabdoub Investments bought the hotel, which turns 100 next year, in 2013 and renovated it with a nod to its original appearance.

The hotel was named to the National Register of Historic Places in 2003. Documents filed with the National Register show it originally had 36 rooms and six bathrooms and a screened sleeping porch.
