The much-anticipated brick-and-mortar version of Twisted Tandoor could open in January.
The restaurant, a rebirth of the popular Indian food truck, is a partnership involving Roop Singh and Jam Culinary Concepts, the parent of Vero Amore and Noble Hops. The restaurant will go into the space that housed Relish Kitchen & Wine Bar, 4660 E. Camp Lowell Drive, which closed in May.
Suzanne Kaiser, who owns Jam Culinary with her sons Joshua and Aric Mussman, said the lease was finalized on Friday. The renovation could run between $100,000 and $150,000 and will include enlarging the bar, knocking down a wall to open up the dining room, and bringing more light into the dark space.
The kitchen will include a tandoor oven, whose installation presents one of the biggest challenges and question marks, Kaiser said.
“That’s the one thing that we’re not sure about, like what kind of hood it has to be under,” she said.
Singh will operate the restaurant, and the menu will be an expansion of the menu from the original Twisted Tandoor food truck that her husband, Muhki, operated for several years before his sudden death in the summer of 2015. Roop Singh said in April that the menu will include more Indian classics, all of them prepared with her recipes.
