University of Arizona's Chip Stratton signs autographs for fans. Arizona beat Florida State, 10-2, on June 9, 1986 to win the NCAA College World Series in Omaha.

When new D-backs managerΒ Chip HaleΒ set the UA career record for games played, 255 consecutive starts from 1984-87, he was not always the first to answer to β€œChip.” Arizona had three players named Chip during that time: Hale, pitcherΒ Chip DillΒ and first basemanΒ Chip Stratton. Dill is now an assistant baseball coach at Tennessee. Stratton is the athletic director at Rincon/University High School.
