City courses might survive after all

On Memorial Day, the Silverbell Golf Course played host to 224 rounds of golf. That’s like the golden days of muni golf in the 1980s and 1990s. In the depressed golf industry, in Tucson and elsewhere, it’s a sign that the five city golf courses might survive under OB Sports’ management. It can’t all be traced to May’s remarkably cool weather, either. The courses survived the high season and the onset of summer in promising condition.
