Allonzo Trier drives to the basket during the USA Basketball Junior National Team's practice in Colorado Springs, Colo., June 11, 2014.Β

After he signed what some view as the nation’s top recruiting class, UA basketball coachΒ Sean MillerΒ said incoming guardΒ Allonzo TrierΒ β€œgets to the foul line as well as anyone I’ve seen at this age, and he has a physicality to his game that makes him incredibly efficient.” As a freshman in 2011-12, playing for the Oklahoma City Storm, Trier made 312 of 351 free-throw attempts. That’s off the charts. Not only did he make 89 percent of them, but almost no one shoots that many free throws. The only UA player to shoot more than 300 foul shots in a season wasΒ Derrick Williams, in 2010-11.
