The popular frozen yogurt chain Pinkberry is about to expand into the Tucson market.
Arizona Ice Cream Co. Inc., which also operates two local Cold Stone Creamery stores, will open a Pinkberry frozen yogurt shop at Marana Marketplace, 3820 W. River Road. It leased 1,100 square feet in the marketplace and is expected to open this spring.
The company plans to open up to four Tucson-area Pinkberry locations in the next 18 months, said Scott Soelter, with NAI Horizon, who represented the tenant in the lease.
Pinkberry has more than 260 locations and is headquartered in Scottsdale. The company is known for its tart yogurt-based swirls like passionfruit, Meyer lemon, orange tang and more. It uses only fresh fruit that's hand cut every day.
