The morning sky continues to dazzle.

Ever brilliant Venus is on the move coming very close to Mars for the next several days.

Look east around 5:30 a.m. each morning to see a good grouping of Jupiter, Venus, and Mars with Jupiter being highest above the horizon and Venus being the brightest. The brilliant white of Venus contrasts well with fainter red Mars.

Friday, Oct. 30, Venus is less than 2 degrees from Mars. By Monday, Nov. 2, Venus is less than a degree to the right (south) of Mars. It is even closer on Tuesday, Nov. 3, as it moves east of Mars.

On these days Mars and Venus will present a gorgeous view in binoculars or a low-power telescope. Don’t forget bright Jupiter about 10 degrees above Venus and Mars.
