Families of 9/11 victims and first responders will be in the audience Friday when Tucson’s True Concord Voices & Orchestra performs at Lincoln Center to commemorate the 14th anniversary of the terrorist attacks.

True Concord is teaming up with Distinguished Concerts International New York and Friends of the Paulus Family to provide a limited number of tickets to survivors free of charge for the concert, which begins at 4 p.m. Tucson time Friday, Sept. 11, in Alice Tully Hall.

True Concord β€” formerly Tucson Chamber Artists β€” will perform Stephen Paulus's "Prayers and Remembrances," which the ensemble commissioned from Paulus in 2010 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks in 2011.

It is the cornerstone True Concord's CD "Far In the Heavens," which includes several other previously unrecorded Paulus works. The CD comes out nationwide on Sept. 11.

About half of the musicians in True Concord left Wednesday for New York City. The rest are expected to fly out for New York City on Thursday.Β
