Here’s a solid reason for heading downtown on Saturday:
An artists reception for Kate Breakey, Gail Marcus-Orlen and Andy Burgess at Etherton Gallery.
Etherton’s exhibit “Color Theory,” features works by the three Tucson artists, all of whom will be at the event.
These aren’t just any artists; they are among the most exciting and accomplished in the Old Pueblo.
Marcus-Orlen’s color-soaked paintings are rich with stories, metaphors and whimsy. You can stand in front of one of her works for hours and still want to spend more time.
Breakey has long fascinated with her photographs. When she hand-colors her images, they become luminous and transformed. Works from her new series, “Golden Stardust,” are featured in the Etherton show.
Burgess’ paintings and drawings reveal the beauty and complexity in architecture. Plus, you’ll want to move right into some of those houses.
Etherton is at 135 S. Sixth Ave. The reception is 7-10 p.m. Saturday, March 18.
