Unapologetic Suzanne Westenhoefer, who claims to be the “first openly lesbian comedian to appear on Comedy Central,” has a Rialito-presented gig at Club Congress on Feb. 28.

Trailer Park Boys pull into the Fox on Friday

The boys are out on the road without their parole officers, and if you think that doesn’t spell trouble, you’ve obviously never heard about the Trailer Park Boys.

Based on the Canadian mockumentary television series from Mike Clattenburg chronicling the less than savory lives of trailer park residents, the group is on the road bringing the insanity to Tucson and beyond.

Trailer Park Boys’ “Still Drunk, High and Unemployed Tour,” presented by the Rialto Theatre, pulls into Fox Tucson Theatre Friday.

The show, featuring Ricky, Julian and Bubbles, starts at 8 a.m. at Fox, 17 W. Congress St. Tickets are $35 to $55 through foxtucsontheatre.org

Also this week at the Rialto, 318 E. Congress St.:

  • Folkie Lucinda Williams plays a sold out show with the Kenneth Brian Band at 8 p.m. Friday.

Next week, the Rialto brings comedian Suzanne Westenhoefer to Club Congress, 311 E. Congress St., on Feb. 28. Tickets: $25 to $27 at ticketfly.com

Guitar whiz brings Mediterranean accent

You can hear flashes of flamenco guitar gods when Pavlo Simtikidis plays.

And in between that are brilliant Greek and Spanish colors and rough-hewn folk ethos that the Toronto, Canada, native sums up simply as Mediterranean sound.

Pavlo — his stage name — will bring his enormous talent and boundless energy to Club Congress at 7 p.m. Thursday for an all-ages show. Tickets are $15 in advance at ticketfly.com or at the door, 311 E. Congress St.

Also at Congress this week:

  • Sedona-based multigenre singer-songwriter Brandon Decker (aka, Decker) this week released his album “Patsy.” He will celebrate the disc with a mini-fest featuring seven bands on two stages beginning at 8 p.m. Friday. On the bill: Santos Bravo, Sweet Ghosts, Steff and The Articles, Carlos Arzate & The Kind Souls, Keli and The Big Dream, and Field Tripp. Admission is free.
  • Nashville, Tennessee, folk duo The Harmaleighs play a free show with Lady Lark at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Vega playing UA Presents show at Fox

There’s a photo on Suzanne Vega’s website of a van packed with guitars and hard-shelled cases presumably filled with sound equipment.

She may be a 30-year veteran musician with a trio of Grammy nominations (think “Luka” at the 1988 Grammys) and a platinum record on her wall, but Vega, a singer-songwriter of considerable talent and renown, is not beneath hitting the road quite literally.

Her tour of the west and east coasts kicked off in Napa, California, Wednesday and pulls into Fox Tucson Theatre Sunday night. From here, she heads out to the East Coast and then to Europe; she’ll take a plane for that leg of the journey.

Her show Sunday from UA Presents starts at 7 p.m. at Fox, 17 W. Congress St. Tickets are $25 to $45 through ticketmaster.com
