Drew Cooper made his main stage debut with his band the Cavalry at Country Thunder Saturday afternoon, the second act in a day that includes festival fave Phil Vassar and headliner Blake Shelton.

In years past Cooper has played the festival's side stages and skyboxes as a duo with a standup bass player and as a soloist. The early shots earned him a following for his soulful baritone and personable stage presence.

In addition to a slew of covers, Cooper sprinkled in a couple original songs in his 30-minute set.

Next up: Former Nickelodeon star Jamie Lynn Spears, baby sister of pop princess Britney. Stay tuned for a review after the show.
