Five Southern Arizona high schools — including three in Tucson — could each earn $1,000 on Tuesday if enough folks are in the mood for Italian food.

Olive Garden restaurants nationwide — there are 800 including at 1213 W. Irvington Road on the south side, 5410 E. Broadway at Williams Center, 300 W. Wetmore Road at Tucson Mall and 11905 N. Oracle Road in the Oro Valley Marketplace — are donating a portion of their dining room sales to a local high school beginning at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3. Twenty-three schools nationwide could receive as much as $1,000 apiece, Olive Garden officials said.

Tucson schools picked as recipients of the campaign are Flowing Wells and Sunnyside high schools and another listed as TPD. Oro Valley’s Ironwood Ridge High School and Sierra Vista’s Buena High School also made the list. Four other Arizona schools are part of the campaign, one each in Phoenix, Queen Creek, Goodyear and Casa Grande.
