Tucson Symphony Orchestra is expected next week to announce its first new music director in 20 years.

The orchestra has scheduled a news conference on Wednesday, Feb. 17, to introduce the conductor who will replace George Hanson, who was music director for 19 years before he concluded his tenure after last season. Hanson is now festival director of the Tucson Desert Song Festival, which last weekend concluded its 2016 run.Β
