Expect to see classic clips of Woody, left, and Buzz Lightyear from “Toy Story" among the 13 Pixar animated features that will be part of the Pixar symphony concert experience.

Last Thanksgiving, the Tucson Symphony Orchestra performed the soundtrack of the Disney classic “Fantasia” while digitally remastered images of the original 1940 film showed on a giant screen.

This Thanksgiving weekend, the orchestra is moving up a few decades to Pixar, the computer animation studio responsible for such contemporary kid classics as “Finding Nemo,” “Cars,” “Up,” “Monsters Inc.” and “Toy Story.”

After nearly 30 years of producing exceedingly popular ground-breaking animated features, Pixar is jumping into the live entertainment arena, teaming up with orchestras in a concert event that features clips from 13 films. The TSO will host the special concert on Nov. 29 at Tucson Music Hall, 260 S. Church Ave.

Tickets go on sale in August. Stay tuned for details.
