Pat Connors living wake

Friends, family and colleagues line up to visit with Pat Connors during his living wake at Pastiche, 3025 N. Campbell Ave, on Feb. 28, 2017, in Tucson, Ariz. Connors, who is terminally ill, held the event to say goodbye to close friends, family and longtime patrons.

A memorial service will be held Saturday for Tucson restaurateur Pat Connors, who died Sunday after a months-long battle with lung cancer.

The service begins at 11:30 a.m. in the Catalina Room of the Sheraton Tucson Hotel & Suites, 5151 E. Grant Road.

Connors, who was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in October, held what he called a β€˜pre-wake wake’ celebration at his Pastiche Food and Drink restaurant five days before he died.

Hundreds of people attended on Feb. 28 to say a final farewell. Connors, 48, had been in hospice care since Feb. 20.

His sister-in-law, Molly Becker, said Connors’ remains will be sent to Ireland to be interred with his parents. His father, C. Patrick Connors, died last September, just weeks before Connors was diagnosed.
