Steakhouse has new name, menu, attitude

The east side's Bone-In Steakhouse is now The Settlement Smokehouse Victuals Libations.

Along with the name change, the restaurant's owner, Gary Sneva, also tweaked the menu to include fish entrees and a couple of salads, said manager Annie McGinnis.

It also upgraded its meat to Black Angus beef, and added a filet mignon "to appeal to a broader group of people."

"We love the building, the piece of property it's on," said McGinnis, who took over managing the restaurant in December. "We have a vision that encompasses more than what the old name (implied)."

The Settlement Smokehouse is the latest incarnation for the building, which has housed a steakhouse of one sort or another for more than 40 years. For 25 of those years it was Webb's Old Spanish Trail Steak House.

Sneva opened it as Bone-In in fall 2010.

The Settlement's new menu includes more local microbrews, craft beers and craft cocktails, McGinnis said.

The Settlement is open from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Details: settlementsmokehouse.com or call 885-4600
