Until a few years ago thisΒ delicacy of the Southwest, the Indian taco, seemed a little hard to come by. But oh how lucky we are now! To drive down St. Β Mary's Road, pop into the little shop on the corner and within five minutes, receive an ethereal platter of pillowy fried dough smothered in a blanket of beef and beans. Just a squirt of spicy red salsa on top for some contrast, and you've got a dish that's absolutely divine.Β

Manna from Heaven, the place is called. And they obviously know what they're talking about. Co-owner Tracy Garcia learned to bake fry bread from her grandmother when she was 8 years old. And now she's carrying on the Pima recipe to her own children who help her work the little restaurant. So let's just take a minute to be thankful. For the present, and everything we have in front of us ...

Insider's tip: The Indian taco with ground beef usually costs $6.50, but if you go on Wednesday they'll sell you the whole thing for $5.50 and throw in a soda!
