In concert

Rain and lightning on May 11 at the AVA at Casino del Sol forced comedian George Lopez to reschedule his “The Wall” show.

Talk about your quick turnarounds: Mother Nature whipped up the winds and let loose the rain and lightning, doing a number on George Lopez’s May 11 concert at the AVA at Casino del Sol.

The folks at the AVA told the sold-out audience that night that they would reschedule the show, which is what most promoters promise and many, but not all, actually do.

But here we are, less than a month later, and the comedian will deliver “The Wall” as promised. Lopez is set to go on stage at 8 p.m. Saturday, June 1, at the AVA, 5655 W. Valencia Road.

The 5,000-seat venue offered the May 11 ticket-holders the first shot at tickets a week after the canceled show, but there are plenty of choice seats left. Tickets are $31 for the lawn and $46 to $76 for reserved seats through tickets.casinodelsol.com.

In case you’re wondering, the forecast calls for highs in the low 90s and — cross your fingers — no chance of rain.
