Country star Blake Shelton, right, with fellow star Trace Adkins, is unlikely to be in Tucson for the local auditions.

Maybe somebody whispered in the ears of the producers for NBC’s talent competition β€œThe Voice” about the extraordinary musical talent in Tucson.

That could explain why the show is sending its scouts our way on April 6 in search of talent strong enough to compete on the highly-rated vocal competition show.

Judges β€” don’t hold your breath for Blake Shelton and Adam Levine to make the trip β€” will hold auditions at Casino del Sol, 5655 W. Valencia Road, in the Paradiso Lounge from noon to 5 p.m.; registration opens at 10 a.m.

Judges will select only one grand-prize winner, who will receive travel expenses to move onto an audition with the casting director in Los Angeles.

Here’s the 411 on the Tucson auditions:

  • You must be 13 or older as of Sept. 1, around the time the show is set to debut next season.
  • The first 200 to register are guaranteed a 60-second, on-stage a cappella audition before a panel of judges.
  • No instruments are allowed.
  • You can’t hold a spot in line for a friend.
  • Download and fill out the official release form before you go. You can find it at tucne.ws/thevoice

β€œThe Voice” has held auditions in Tucson several times since the show debuted in 2010.
