For a brief moment or two, Janet Jackson was set to play a big-time, stage-shattering, big-city-arena-worthy show at Tucson Arena.

That was back in early 2016, but ... she cancelled.

There were rumors, whispers and perhaps a lot of wishful thinking among her fans of a new date. But it never happened.

Instead the 50-year-old R&B diva started a family.

And then she had a baby, split from her husband and in a video to her fans on Monday announced that tour from last year β€” the "Unbreakable" β€” is back on again.

Only now it's the "State of the World" tour and, not surprisingly, Tucson is not among the cities she'll hit beginning in September.

But Phoenix will be. Tickets ($34-$125) go on sale May 5 for her Sept. 21 show at Talking Stick Arena.Β
