Ex-Cat Ashley has stiff competition to make team

Ex-UA forward Brandon Ashley is one of 20 players in the Dallas Mavericks training camp. His competition at small/power forward is overwhelming. Not only do five players at his position have long NBA experience, the Mavs signed Ohio Bobcat grad Maurice Ndour, an undrafted free agent forward, to a guaranteed contract after watching him in the summer league. Ashley is almost sure to open this year for the NBA D-League’s Texas Legends.
