After setting scoring records at Pima College last season, Tucson High gradย Shakir Smithย made his Division I debut before 13,000 people at New Mexicoโs โThe Pitโ last week. Undaunted, Smith led Adams State with 21 points in a 62-50 exhibition loss to the Lobos. Smith will renew his old Tucson prep rivalry with Puebloโsย Michael Perezย of Nevada when Adams State plays in Reno on Monday night. Perez, who is likely to be the Wolf Packโs top scorer, has made good use of his time at UTEP and Nevada. Heโs set to graduate in December.
