Ex-Sahuaro standout Verdugo has big JuneΒ 

Former Sahuaro High outfielderΒ Alex Verdugo, a second-round pick of the Dodgers last year, had a terrific June for the Class A Great Lakes Loons of the Midwest League. Verdugo hit .365 after a slumping month of May in which he hit .191. With his $914,000 signing bonus, Verdugo bought a 1965 Chevrolet Impala and is working to restore it.
