Ex-Wildcats highlight U.S. Open qualifier field
About 15 of Tucson’s top golfers are scheduled to be in the field for the U.S. Open local qualifier Wednesday at Sewailo Golf Club. Three players from a field of about 80 will advance to sectional qualifying. Among those in the field are Eric Rustand, who played on four global golf tours after graduating from BYU; former U.S. Amateur contender David McDaniel; Jake Rogers, who succeeded in the qualifying process and played in the 2007 U.S. Open; and ex-UA golfers Brian Prouty and Jonathan Khan, who have been on pro satellite tours in recent years.
