Former Lancer Hoard has career day
Salpointe Catholic grad Michael Hoard, who has struggled for playing time on Andy Lopez’s UA baseball team, had a career-type day Friday in a victory at Stanford. Hoard reached base in all five of trips to the plate, including a two-run triple. Hoard had just 14 at-bats before Friday’s game. Talk about making the most of your chances; Hoard is now batting .438. Perseverance works.
