Geese like this are causing a problem at a golf course in Wyoming.Β

RAWLINS, Wyo. β€” A new hazard is challenging players and the greens keeper at the Rochelle Ranch Golf Course in Rawlins.

More than 200 Canada geese have interrupted their migration south to take up temporary residence at the course.

The birds leave a mess wherever they go and cause other damage.

Last spring, the geese made a pit stop at the Rawlins course on their annual trek north for the summer.

The golf course manger told the Rawlins Daily TimesΒ that noisemakers to scare the birds don't work because the geese have become accustomed to such devices.

The golf course governing board has directed officials to ask the Rawlins City Council for a permit to kill some of the geese if they stay too long.
