Arizona wins Pac-12 title

Ianello second UA grad to win conference title as coach

Arizona has won 51 Pac-10/12 championships over the years, and women’s golf coach Laura Ianello is the only Wildcat ever to be a head coach and also play for a Pac-10/12 champion. The then-Laura Myerscough was part of the UA’s 1998, 2000 and 2001 league champions and now has coached the UA to 2010 and 2015 golf titles. The only other ex-Wildcat to coach his alma mater to a Pac-10/12 championship was track/cross-country coach Dave Murray, who ran distances for UA in the late 1960s and coached the UA men when they won track titles and cross-country championships. Ianello, who was a finalist in the 2000 U.S. Women’s Amateur, once turned down an opportunity to be an assistant coach at Vanderbilt under ex-UA coach Greg Allen
