The Lerner and Rowe law firm, and Tucson Appliance and Furniture Co. are teaming up to give away 1,000 turkeys to families on Sunday, Nov. 19.
The 1K Gobbler Giveaway will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club of Tucson Frank and Edith Morton Clubhouse, 3155 E. Grant Road.
In addition to the free turkey giveaway, there will be food, entertainment and other giveaways while supplies last at the event. Also, families attending can enter for a chance to win a gift certificate for a new range worth $1,000.
Attorney Kevin Rowe said the idea for the holiday giveaway came when he met Chris Edwards, owner of Tucson Appliance, and they began talking about how important it is for businesses to give back to the community and help those in need.
From that chance meeting, Rowe said the idea for the turkey giveaway was developed.
He said Delivery Doctors and Eegeeโs agreed to transport the 1,000 frozen turkeys to the event. Costco representatives will also be on hand with free slices of pumpkin pie and to sign up people for memberships.
