The three-day Bisbee Pirates Weekend will feature mermaids, a pirate prom, market and more.

Pirates will converge on Bisbee for the three-day 13th annual Bisbee Pirates Weekend.

From swimming with mermaids to a pirate prom, there is no shortage of maritime shenanigans happening in this landlocked Southern Arizona town starting Friday, Aug. 9, through Sunday, Aug. 11.

Jump into the action with a cosplay pirate adventure through the San Pedro River plain on Friday at 4 p.m. Tickets are $33.

Later that evening, once the sun sets, catch a free outdoor showing of the classic 1985 pirate adventure "The Goonies." Or for $25, the 21-and-up crowd can don your maritime and merfolk finery at the pirate prom, which kicks off at 8 p.m.

Day 2 on Saturday, Aug. 10, will feature a maritime marketplace at Bisbee City Park with vendors, crafts, troubadours, acrobats, magical mermaids and a pet pirate costume contest, a news release said.

Indulge in some spirits at Saturday's Skull & Scuppers Pub Crawl, which starts at 1 p.m. for $25 per person. Come 7:30 p.m., mermaids will hit the streets — both professional and community members who want to join the fun — for a parade.

Cap off the weekend by swimming with mermaids at the Bisbee City Pool on Sunday, Aug. 11.
