Justin Hartley goes from 'This is Us' to 'Tracker'

Sitting still unnerves Justin Hartley.

While making his new series, β€œTracker,” Hartley had moments where he was on camera but wasn’t talking.

β€œIt’s a bit scary in a way because you’re sitting there going, β€˜OK, I’ve been silent for a good 40 seconds. Is that boring?’”

Coming from β€œThis is Us,” Hartley had to realize a procedural series wasn’t all action. Yet he and Executive Producer Ken Olin (who also worked on the Emmy-winning NBC series) wanted to try something that was like β€œThe Rockford Files” or β€œMannix.”

Same path, different directions: 'MLK/X' puts King, X on parallel journeys

Kelvin Harrison Jr. and Aaron Pierre can name the actors who have played Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X on screen.

They also suspect those actors felt the same way they did when they began β€œGenius: MLK/X,” a limited series about the two Civil Rights leaders.

β€œI’m sure they were insecure and scared and wondering if they could do it as well,” Harrison says. β€œBut I don’t think they regretted it. When I took it, I was like, as hard as this may be, I don’t know what I’m inviting into my life, but I know when I come out of it, I’m going to be a better person and my character is going to be stronger.”

REVIEW: 'Argylle' is patterned after nothing worthwhile

Misspelling β€œargyle” should have been the tip-off.

Filled with so many unnecessary elements, β€œArgylle” is hardly the fantastic spy thriller it aspires to be. Blessed with a great cast, the film nevertheless falls apart several times, just from the heft of its production.

This isn’t another β€œKingsman,” β€œLost City” or James Bond. It’s a hodgepodge of ideas that never quite weave into coherence.
