To celebrate the Jewish holiday Lag BaOmer, four Chabad centers will host a community picnic at Curtis Park, 2110 W. Curtis Road.

The picnic begins 5 p.m. Thursday, May 26 and includes bouncing castles and kosher food.

"It's a outdoor holiday, and it celebrates two occasions," said Rabbi Yehuda Ceitlin. "The first is the passing of one of the most known Kabbalah scholars in history, and he instructed that the day of his passing should be a joyous one ... and the second is commemorating the ending of a deadly plague that killed 24,000 Talmudic-era students after Passover."

Entrance costs $10 per person and $30 per family, according to press materials.
