Group hosts talk, film on sex and faith

Freethought Arizona will present a talk on sexual purity and faith communities from 10 to 11:45 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, at DuVal Auditorium at Banner-University Medical Center, 1501 N. Campbell Ave.

Filmmaker Brittany Machado will speak about the topic. A showing of the documentary she produced, “Give Me Sex Jesus,” will follow at 1 p.m. The documentary details stories of individuals who struggled with sexual desire within the context of evangelical Christian communities, according to press materials.

ICS Lunch and Learn series takes on worry

Interfaith Community Services will present a Lunch and Learn session about managing and understanding anxiety from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22.

Dory Martin, a healthcare professional and counselor, will discuss how worry can affect relationships and life.

Fountain of Life Lutheran Church, 710 S. Kolb Road, will host the $10 event, which includes lunch. Registration is required.
