A weekend retreat with Tibetan meditation master Orgyen Chowang Rinpoche will focus on the central meditation practice of the "Tibetan Book of the Dead" and will teach people ways to apply these techniques to improve their own lives, and deaths.

Rinpoche's teachings get "in touch with people in a way that they can really apply to improve their lives," said Josh Godine, president of the San Francisco Bay Area's Atiamrita, an organization founded by Rinpoche that is dedicated to promoting happiness, inner peace and enlightenment.

Attendees will learn a "very accessible form of meditation practice," he said, and will be better able to achieve peace of mind in relating to everyday challenges, stresses and anxieties.

Rinpoche is a meditation master in the Nyingma lineage of the Buddhist tradition. He began his studies at age 14 at Larung Gar In Serta, in eastern Tibet, with teacher Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche.
