According to the Brewers Association, volume share for craft brewers rose in 2018 from 12.6 to 13.2 percent, while barrels produced increased by roughly 800,000.

Breweries that own multiple brands or work as collectives are broken out by the beers that comprise their number for 2018. For example, New Belgium Brewing Company owns Magnolia Brewing. “Although the market has grown more competitive, particularly for regional craft breweries with the widest distribution, these 50 small and independent brewing companies continue to lead the craft brewing market in sales through strong brands, quality, and innovation,” said Bart Watson, chief economist, Brewers Association.
